Assessment of Energy Consumption Characteristics of Ultra-Heavy-Duty Vehicles under Real Driving Conditions

Passenger cars account for the largest share of GHG emissions in road sector. However, given that number heavy-duty vehicles registered is lower but accounts about a quarter sector, it necessary to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) by improving fuel efficiency vehicles. experiments using dynamometers during vehicle development process consume lot time and cost. Conversely, simulations can quantitatively analyze sensitivity parameters accelerate optimization. Therefore, this study, we modeled an AVL Cruise simulation analyzed effects payload, air drag coefficient, rolling resistance on economy, CO2 emission, valid window ratio among moving average (MAW) three driving routes. When speed was higher, effect coefficient economy high. Additionally, when lowered, reduced higher than reducing drag. Thus, improvement rate according each 10% decrease 2.2%, average, low route. confirmed high section with first. almost 100% test route conditions starting from highway section.
